I was born on July 14, 1960, in Rockingham County, Virginia as the middle child of Five Children. My parents never owned a home of their own but paid rent all their lives. The last house we lived was a farmhouse on a dairy Farm in which I worked until I was 21. I graduated from Broadway High School in 1978. I received my undergraduate degree in sociology from Bridgewater College in 1983. In 1993 received my Master of Divinity Degree from Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg Virginia. Between College and seminary, I got married to April Driver while working as a carpenter building custom homes. While working as a carpenter full-time I took on a Youth Pastor at Dayton UMC in Virginia. In 1990I started my First appointment and was fully ordained in 1994.

April and I have been married for 41 years. We have two grown children-Katie and Joshua and four grandchildren.

My hobbies include hunting, gardening, cutting firewood, carpentry/building, and small engine repair. I love being involved in diverse kinds of mission from serving at a food kitchen to taking mission team to offer the love of Christ with those that are the “least” among us. I am enthusiastic about preaching the word of God and helping individuals to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
