Mr. Hector C. Strong
Mr. Hector C. Strong (left) shown here with Mr. William (Bill) Gordon, was a member of Jackson Street United Methodist Church. Hector was a flight instructor at Tuskegee Institute, Alabama during the midforties for the training of Black pilots many of whom later served with the 99th, Pursuit Squadron ( the first Black Flying Squadron and 332nd. Flight group (Tuskegee Airman).
Hector was also the first full time Black Probation officer for the Lynchburg Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, having held that position for over twenty years at the time of his death.
